About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Power BI Developer to join our team in a development-focused role. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying interactive dashboards, reports, and data models using Power BI. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data modeling, DAX calculations, and experience integrating Power BI with various data sources. This is a hands-on development role requiring strong analytical, design, and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, publish, and maintain interactive Power BI reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights.
- Design and implement data models (star/snowflake schemas) optimized for performance and usability.
- Write complex DAX queries and measures to support business logic and advanced calculations.
- Integrate Power BI with various data sources such as SQL Server, Azure, Excel, SharePoint, APIs, etc.
- Collaborate with business analysts, data engineers, and stakeholders to gather and translate requirements into effective reporting solutions.
- Implement row-level security (RLS) and data access control as per business needs.
- Optimize report performance and manage Power BI workspace, datasets, and gateways.
- Perform data profiling, cleansing, and transformation using Power Query (M language).
- Contribute to the CI/CD process for Power BI reports and data pipelines if required.
- Stay up to date with Power BI updates and best practices to continuously improve reporting capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in Power BI development.
- Strong experience in building data models, DAX expressions, and complex visuals.
- Proficiency with Power Query (M language) and data transformation.
- Solid understanding of SQL and experience working with relational databases.
- Experience integrating Power BI with cloud platforms like Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL, or Data Factory is a plus.
- Familiarity with Power BI Service, workspace management, and data refresh scheduling.
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts, BI architecture, and ETL processes.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments is a plus.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):
- Knowledge of Python or R for data analysis or scripting.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and deployment automation for Power BI (e.g., Azure DevOps).
- Microsoft certifications in Power BI or related technologies.
